File Formats

This document specifies the file formats in which the national digital preservation service preserves and receives digital objects.

The DPS supports two kinds of file formats: Recommended and acceptable for transfer. Recommended file formats are those that we consider to be usable for a long time, whereas acceptable for transfer formats are those in which a significant amount of content is currently stored in partner organisations.

This is a translation of the national specification. Should this translation conflict with the Finnish version, the Finnish version will have a higher priority.
